My name is Lawrie Huxley, I am a Building Designer located in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Educated at Sydney University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, I design new custom houses or can transform your existing home, combining beauty, functionality, sustainability and energy efficiency whilst blending seamlessly in its setting and surroundings.
With decades of experience working in high-end Sydney architectural practices, I have a wealth of knowledge in the design, documentation and construction of all kinds of residential buildings, from modest homes to grand residences,
from granny flats to multi-dwelling complexes.
Through initial meetings, listening to my clients wishes and aspirations and developing an understanding of their lifestyle, allows for close, honest collaboration to fulfil their dreams and translate their ideas into a finished design that delivers and exceeds expectations.
I can provide a complete service, from a design brief to the finished building, or I can tailor my services to fit your needs and budget. From small extensions to new builds, I create spaces that are relaxing, stylish and comfortable. I like to problem solve and pay close attention to detail. My plans are explicit, enabling your builder to get on with the job. I can help with building supervision if required. My aim is to make the whole experience as enjoyable and stress free as possible.

The property is approximately 450 square metres and included a new area comprising 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a substantial open plan lounge/dining area and kitchen, a large deck with remote fly screens, and various storage areas. The property was also designed to adjoin an existing cottage in a French style and included some rebuild of the original cottage including a study. Laurie was mindful that the final design plan had to meet our stated budget requirements.
